Commands & Colors: Ancients is the masterpiece design by Richard Borg. It uses a gaming system he calls Commands & Colors, which captures the game play in a nutshell: players alternate issuing commands to their forces (choosing from among a group of command cards held in the hand), using the commands to move, battle and capture battle flags from units of the other side.

GMT currently plans to present modules and scenarios involving the following nationalities from 3000 BC to 400 AD: Achaeans, Egyptians, Phokians, Spartans, Greeks, Persians, Macedonians, Seleucids, Indians, Carthaginians, Romans, Gauls, and Germanic Horde.

More information is available at the GMT web site for Commands and Colors: Ancients and CCA: Expansion Pack 1 and CCA: Expansion Pack 2 and CCA: Expansion Pack 3
