Common Wargaming Abbreviations

I'll use this page to spell out common wargaming abbreviations, whether they are title shortcuts or common wargaming terms. Any time I see on on the ConSimWorld discussion board, I'll add it here. Please email with your suggestions and additions.

• AH : Avalon Hill, grand daddy company of them all, now defunct
• CSW : ConSimWorld, a web site dedicated to conflict simulations: ConSimWorld.com
• EFS : Eastern Front Series, a group of GMT games on the WWII Eastern Front, including the Army Group South/Central/North series. An ancestor to these was Typhoon.
• GBACW : Great Battles of the Civil War, a GMT game series including 3DoG, River of Death, and Red Badge of Courage
• GBoH : Great Battles of History, a series of GMT games, mostly in the Ancients era
• GCACW : Great Campaigns of the Civil War, an AH/Victory Games series of American Civil War games.
• OOB : Order Of Battle; who was there and in what strength.
• SGBoH : Simple Great Battles of History, a new set of rules put out by GMT that simplified the GBoH system.
• SFB : Star Fleet Battles, a long lived series of games depicting starship combat
• SFO : Sweden Fights On, a game by GMT
• SPI : Simulations Publications Inc., the first real challenger to AH. Also long gone.
• UF : Up Front, a classic AH card game depicting man to man combat in World War II.
• ZOC : Zone of Control
